OVERVIEW:  I present 'Visual Journeys' at Camera Clubs and photo-conventions around the country, and am often asked to share my techniques with others. This workshop is my response for the creation of quality digital presentations, and even one and two projector slide programs if those interest you. Set in the Central Idaho Mountains with time set aside for winter photography including an Elk herd and snow-laden landscapes

DAY 1        
Arrive Boise
where I'll meet your flight at around midday. Photography of Boise skyline etcetera, then off into the Payette River canyon for a number of winter river shots on route to McCall. Supper in McCall, and a workshop orientation.

DAY 2
Morning: Choice of software
Morning: Digital presentation examples
Afternoon: Establishing your goals, concepts and themes during the workshop
Afternoon: Choosing suitable images
Evening:
Digital presentation examples 

DAY 3
Morning: Winter photography
Afternoon: Mastering the software [Pro Show Gold]
Evening: Free 

DAY 4
Morning: Choice of soundtrack
Afternoon: Mixing images and soundtracks
Afternoon:

Evening: Review of client presentations

DAY 5        
Winter photography early is you're still up to it, then a slow, picture-stop ride to Boise via Cascade Lake for afternoon flights home.

Notes 
   
The itinerary can be altered to suit the aims and tastes of the participants, and the size of the group
   I highly recommend that you bring the digital images, or slides, with which you would like to build your program or programs
   For 'digital only' folks, the workshop will include instruction applicable to PowerPoint and similar software

   Laptop loaded with presentation creating program such as Pro Show Gold
   Back-up drive
   Digital images
   Your music if possible

For slide presentations
   Your slide projection equipment
   *Compatible tape deck for matching signal compatibility
   Your slides
   Spare bulbs
   Bring your instruction manuals
   *You will have the use of a good stereo system at the workshop location

WINTER PHOTOGRAPHY
To whet your appetite, photography will include or be drawn from the following:

   Elk [winter feeding program]

   Brundage Ski Mountain
   Historic Roseberry
   Farm-To-Market Road

EQUIPMENT PROVIDED
Not applicable if working with digital images
   Large light tables, 1 per two people
   Overnight dust covers for light tables
   Work lamps over light tables
   Lupes, 1 per person
   E6 processing if required
   Gepe slide mounts
   Gepe slide press
   Dual projectors
   Single projector
   Digital projector
   Title slides -if possible, let me know these before the workshop!
   Dust blowers (bulb) and/or brushes
   Loan of Kodak or Sawyer slide trays
   Use of Imatronic dissolve, and projectors and audio set-up if not bringing your own.
   Chrome (CR02) audio tapes
   Audio mixing equipment

PHOTOGRAPHY TOUR FEES

TRIP COST: $TBD per person, double occupancy [land only]

SINGLE ROOM SUPPLEMENT: 14% of the trip cost

SMALL GROUP SUPPLEMENT:
For groups of 3 only: Add 10% of the trip cost above.
For 1 and 2-person ‘groups’ only, the rate is negotiable.

INCLUDED IN THE TRIP COST: The following items are included in the trip cost: personalized photography instruction throughout the trip by John; all accommodations; all breakfasts; on-vehicle snacks and bottled water; all ground transportation; airport transfers on the first and last days of the trip only; entrance fees for sites and activities listed below under ‘Admissions’; and following the trip, field notes describing the time, place and subject of each photo stop, and a disc containing images of clients 'in action' on the trip.

NOT INCLUDED IN THE TRIP COST: The costs for these items are the responsibility of each participant: airfare; travel costs between your home and the gateway airport and return; any transportation or travel costs incurred prior to or after the tour’s inclusive dates; pre-tour and/or post-tour accommodation; lunches and dinners; alcoholic beverages; entrance fees or costs related to optional sites or activities not included in the itinerary or a part of the trip; excess baggage charges; medical costs; personal items; incidental charges incurred at our accommodations such as internet access, phone calls or laundry; baggage and/or travel insurance; passport or visa expenses; and airport departure taxes.
