PHOTOGRAPHY TOUR OVERVIEW:  This photo tour of London will consist of photo excursions to the city’s icons led by English photographer and guide John Baker. Photography highlights will include the Tower Bridge, Trafalgar Square, the 'Changing of the Guard' at Buckingham Palace, St. James Park, Westminster Abbey, a sunset 'flight' on the London Eye, Lifeguards on horseback and the three River Thames icons of Big Ben, Houses of Parliament and Westminster Bridge. Night photography also included.

LONDON NOTES:  This trip is predominantly a walking tour of London as one doesn't even attempt to drive around this great city! We do however take our time, hop onto the London Tube train to cover the greater distances or to get home, and stop for tea/coffee/photography critique and instruction breaks. Average health is sufficient for this trip.

INCREASING YOUR PHOTOGRAPHY SKILLS: There isn’t a straightforward way to describe everything you will learn on one of our photography tours in just a few words, but I'll give it a try . . . I instruct, encourage, nurture, coach, nudge, help and guide clients etcetera, all day and every day.  This includes one-on-ones and 'collective instruction', i.e. advice given to the whole group at each photo stop. Subjects and techniques discussed and demonstrated are composition strength, shutter speeds, exposure compensation, how aperture choice influences depth of field, lens choice, filter use, long exposure effects, deliberate blur, macro and so on. I also encourage you to 'see' an image when the opportunity presents itself, i.e. to be on the lookout for those less obvious shots that are no less stunning. Lastly, I conduct image critiques both on location - digital camera screens are ideal for this - and via the use of laptops. PhotoShop sessions are also included as time permits. For more details regarding what you'll learn go here.

TRAVEL TO THE GATEWAY AIRPORT
o It is recommended that clients arrive a day early to be fresh for the trip, and to also counteract possible flight delays.
o Early arrival also enables you to explore the gateway city should you wish to do so.
o When booking flights, add a day for overnight travel or two days if also crossing the Pacific Ocean/International Dateline.
o The last day of the trip is the date you should arrange your flight home unless you plan to stay on. Thank you!

DAY 1  |  Arrive LONDON, ENGLAND
Your morning flight into London’s Heathrow will be met by John, and after lunch we'll make our way into London to check-in to our accommodations in the very heart of London on the Thames river. After free time and dinner we'll do some sunset/twilight photography with Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament being our focal point.
Central LONDON, 3 nights

DAYS 2, 3 and 4  |  LONDON
Days 2, 3 and 4 will be filled with many London experiences and photogenic places as we point our lenses at such city ‘icons’ as Trafalgar Square, Buckingham Palace, St. James Park, the London ‘Tube’, Westminster Abbey, Lifeguards on horseback, Tower Bridge, the Tower of London, St. Paul’s Cathedral designed by Sir Christopher Wren, and the threesome of Big Ben, Houses of Parliament and Westminster Bridge and more. A ride on the London Eye, early and late light shooting, free time, and twilight photography is included in this itinerary.
Late
on day 4 we will head to our hotel near Heathrow to be ready for morning departure flights . . . but not before your London photography is completed.
