PHOTOGRAPHY TOUR OVERVIEW: Paris, the city of romance. Well, you'll fall in love with Parisienne icons such as the Arc de Triomphe, the Champs Elysées, the Eiffel Tower, the Latin Quarter, the colorful gardens with historic statues, the Seine River bridges, Notre Dame plus the 'off the beaten track' Paris and more. Night photography also included.
PARIS NOTES: This trip is predominantly a walking tour of Paris, but we'll use the Metro for more distant subjects or when needs must. We'll make stops for tea/coffee/photography critique and instruction breaks. Average health is sufficient for this trip.
INCREASING YOUR PHOTOGRAPHY SKILLS: There isn’t a straightforward way to describe everything you will learn on one of our photography tours in just a few words, but I'll give it a try . . . I instruct, encourage, nurture, coach, nudge, help and guide clients etcetera, all day and every day. This includes one-on-ones and 'collective instruction', i.e. advice given to the whole group at each photo stop. Subjects and techniques discussed and demonstrated are composition strength, shutter speeds, exposure compensation, how aperture choice influences depth of field, lens choice, filter use, long exposure effects, deliberate blur, macro and so on. I also encourage you to 'see' an image when the opportunity presents itself, i.e. to be on the lookout for those less obvious shots that are no less stunning. Lastly, I conduct image critiques both on location - digital camera screens are ideal for this - and via the use of laptops. PhotoShop sessions are also included as time permits. For more details regarding what you'll learn go here.
TRAVEL TO THE GATEWAY AIRPORT
o It is recommended that clients arrive a day early to be fresh for the trip, and to also counteract possible flight delays.
o Early arrival also enables you to explore the gateway city should you wish to do so.
o When booking flights, add a day for overnight travel or two days if also crossing the Pacific Ocean/International Dateline.
o The last day of the trip is the date you should arrange your flight home unless you plan to stay on. Thank you!
DAY 1, 2 and 3 | PARIS, FRANCE
Following your late morning arrival into Charles de Gaulle airport we'll take lunch and make our way into the heart of Paris to check-in to our accommodations. After free time we'll shoot near the hotel, take dinner, and do some twilight photography from the roof of out hotel with the flood-lit Eiffel Tower prominent.
Days 2 and 3 will be filled with many Parisienne images and experiences as we photograph our way around one of Europe's most captivating cities. The long list of subjects includes the Arc de Triomphe, the Champs Elysées, the Louvre and glass Pyramid, the Eiffel Tower shot from every conceivable angle plus a tower ascent, the Trocadéro, the Latin Quarter, colorful gardens including Tuileries with it's own Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel, typical sidewalk café scenes, the 'off-beat' Paris, the 'impressionist' Paris, and the Seine River with the best of it's bridges including Pont Neuf, and Pont des Arts. You'll have some free time to relax and/or image critiquing, plus twilight photography will be included etcetera.
PARIS, 3 nights
DAY 4 | PARIS
We'll shoot some more Paris scenes close to the hotel this morning prior to accessing additional locations on the north side of Paris. We'll shoot an 'unfashionable' neighborhood where the 'real' Paris exists, and Montmartre's Basilique du Sacre Coeur. Wonderful views of Paris are to be had from the same spot.
GONESSE, 1 night
DAY 5 | Flights home
USA residents will arrive home on the same calendar day.
Free transport is available to Dijon if you wish to participate in our Burgundy photography tour.
