A North American Brown Bear - also known as the Black Bear - near Many Glacier Lake.
Statistically there are more Grizzly Bears in Glacier National Park
than Brown Bears, but sightings of either are common in specific
regions of the Park. We keep our distance and shoot with long
lenses. |

A member of the Twisted Stalk family
[Streptopus Amplexifolius] found commonly in shaded forests. |

Baring Falls captured with a long
exposure to 'soften' the water. A tripod, f.22, and overcast light
are a good starting pint for waterfall photography. However, if the
shutter speed is still faster than one fifteenth of a second there
are neutral density filters and the lowest ISO available to you. |

Built in 1930, a White Motor Company red bus
approaches the top of the Logan Pass. The vehicles are synonymous
with Glacier and Waterton National Parks, and were rebuilt in 2001.
They are known as 'Red Jammers' due to the necessity of having to
jam them into gear in ye days of old. |

Indian Paintbrush and Penstemon provide foreground
interest and color for this shot of Mt. Reynolds. |

I will only include a lot of sky in my images if it
adds to the interest, and in this case I think it does. |

One of the many macro
shots one can find when exploring almost any of the
trails in Glacier National Park.
There are some magnificent landscapes in the park, but
sometimes another great shot is at knee level. |

Changeable weather brings it's benefits such as this
long lens shot looking east from Logan Pass. |

A pair of Lunch Creek Falls images. Above,
a semi-wide perspective with
foreground color as the waters cascade by, and at right a different
and wider angle yields the flat peak of Pollock Mountain. |

A pair of 'middle of the
day' shots that are full of light and shade due to the
angle of the slopes and ridges.
Above, a shot from Logan Pass looking east at
Mt. Oberlin, left, Mt Clements center, and Mt. Cannon
with Birdwoman Falls visible in the middle of the image.
Below, another perspective of Mt. Reynolds
looking west.
