Photography Tour Overview: From Washington DC to
Niagara Falls via Philadelphia, New York, Portland Head lighthouse, New
Hampshire and Vermont fall foliage and Syracuse . . . a grass roots photography trip of the American east. Photography subjects will include the White House, Arlington cemetery, the Liberty Bell, the Statue of Liberty, the Brooklyn Bridge,
and everything in-between as we make our way to Niagara Falls. Along the way
there will be many additional photo ops and historical perspectives in the
region where modern American history began.

itinerary . . .
But first things first! We suggest that you set your camera's clock to the local time, as your images will then synchronize with the times in our included photo tour
field notes.
Days 1 + 2 | Washington DC and environs
We'll kick off our Eastern Seaboard Icons photography tour at 9 am, and head out to
photograph a cluster of iconic buildings and monuments that represent over two
centuries America's history. Most of the images will be accessed on foot, but
we'll take our time, especially as our exploration of the city and region will
be split over two days. Washington icons include Arlington cemetery, the
National Mall, Capitol Building, Jefferson Memorial, the White House, Lincoln
Memorial, Vietnam Veterans Memorial, and the Washington Monument along with
twilight photography if you have the energy. A side trip to George Washington's
Mount Vernon is also on the schedule.

Day 3 | Washington DC to Philadelphia,
Pennsylvania
We'll meander some picturesque country roads as we make our way to the
historical Gettysburg. After an exploration of it's history and On to Philadelphia
and Independence National Historical Park where the Liberty Bell is preserved.
Nearby is the iconic Independence Hall where the Declaration of Independence and
the United States Constitution were debated and adopted in the late 18th
century. Twilight photography and more.

Days 4 + 5 | Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to
Brooklyn, New York
Philadelphia skyline, New York's Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, and the Brooklyn
and Manhattan Bridges with a New York city backdrop, plus an Upper Bay/Hudson
River boat trip, plus twilight photography and more.
Brooklyn, New York, 2 nights
Day 6 | Brooklyn, New York, to Portland Head
Lighthouse, Maine
New York skyline, and a variety of photo stops including Rockport,
Massachusetts, and the Nubble lighthouse at Cape Neddick as we make our way to our
overnight stop south of Portland, Maine.

Days 7 + 8 | Portland Head lighthouse, Maine,
to Woodstock, Vermont
After shooting the dawn sunrise at the Portland head lighthouse we'll head
inland for a potpourri of images as the fall foliage begins to dominate the
latter half of the trip. On through New Hampshire for classic and colorful
images in the White Mountains. We then cross the Connecticut River into Vermont,
and on to Woodstock, Vermont, for a two night stay.
On day 8 we'll start with dawn shooting at Jenne Farm and a sugar shack with the
remainder of the day taken up with shooting covered bridges, classic red barn
scenes, and rustic Vermont villages.

Day 9 | Woodstock, Vermont, to Syracuse, New
York
You can expect some fabulous fall color as we make a variety of stops on our way
to Syracuse. Late light photography around Clinton Square is scheduled for
tonight.
Syracuse, New York, 1 night
Days 10 + 11 | Syracuse, New York, to Niagara
Falls, New York
We'll make detours for images as we make our way to Niagara Falls, and once
we are checked into our hotel we'll make the first of several visits to the
famed falls. Today and on day 11 we'll shoot both the United States and Canadian
sides of the waterfalls, with long exposures being highly recommended. The included dinner on the last night of our photography tour will feature an 'It's You!' presentation of clients in action by John.

Day 12 | Departure day from Buffalo, New York

As there isn't any photography scheduled for the day of departure, your flight home can be arranged for any time today.

Photography Tour Cost, the Fine Details and Enrollment
Trip Cost: $5,249 USD per person not including airfare. A 5% discount is applied to all double occupancies. A single room supplement is required for single occupancy
Single Supplement: 14% of the base cost of the trip
